With the transformation of a mini MPV to a conventional hatchback in 2012, the reworked Mercedes A-Class was planned correctly but there are some issues in its execution. The new coming classy, modern and powerful Mercedes A-Class is the right answer and eliminates all the criticism for which the previous one is victimised.
The new Mercedes A-Class is not only re-dressed, it is re-branded as well in all aspects becoming more practical, more spacious and better to drive. For the competitions of all the future plans, the all-new 4th generation will be based on the new platform.
The MFA version is heavily revised in the new model named as MFA2. A considerable addition in length and wheelbase increases the inside space.
The new Mercedes A-Class is not only re-designed but also smarter than before in engine performance. The previous engine is re-engineered from the 2.1-litre diesel engine to smart 2.0-litre three-cylinder diesel engine. The bhp outputs are smartly increased from 160bhp to 190bhp.
Mercedes is also planning to introduce 10 new plug-in hybrids by 2017. It clearly figures out that the fuel-sipping pert-electric version of Mercedes A-class will also arrive in next year. This package could be made up of a small turbocharged petrol engine or a new three-cylinder diesel working in conjunction with a 50kW electric motor.
This is what someone can imagine in future. Not only this, the powertrain is powered through a nine-speed dual clutch gearbox which means all-electric version will cover 30 miles range.
New and advanced gadgets are planned to renovate the new Mercedes A-Class with simplified dash design and larger digital display. The COMMAND infotainment system, which is controlled by the swivel wheel will be no longer available and replaced with more intelligent touchpad controller which is found on the compact exec and exec saloons.
