Mercedes has announced that it will bring its ravishing A-class sedan to U.S. markets in next year. Reports are that the upcoming coupe is going to come below CLA-class saloon in the list in size and price which is currently the smallest Mercedes on sale. This may make the competition fierce between the two models or Mercedes might elevate the price of CLA a bit. We are expecting the inspiration of the upcoming model to come from the Shanghai and Geneva Motor Shows where Mercedes A-class Saloon concept car was unveiled. A-class has never been offered in the United States before which is the sole reason behind the excitement of getting one coming year.
The engine is still a surprise. We cannot predict at the moment whether the car will, on its launch, have a twin-turbocharged 4.0-Litre V8 A Class Engines promising 805-horsepower hybrid powertrain as was shown in the concept car. Hybrid versions usually follow the initial release of the car. Eyeing on the competitors, the efficient and reliable engine with excellent driving force is expected from Mercedes if it intends to take the top position.
It is most likely that the new A-class is going to get a sporty look with angled headlights, a hood that is low but more defined and more pronounced creases giving muscular look to the car. Originally, the A-class debuted back in 1997 when we saw a small yet smart four-door car. Following 20 years, A family has gotten mature. The perfectly engineered cars with the addition of latest technology have made Mercedes unbeatable in the auto industry.
Interior is supposed to be following the core Mercedes norms with a slight touch of innovation. All the perks of a modern car including infotainment system and safety features are thought to be part of the standard package. A slight increase in the car dimensions can be possible. The auto manufacturer has a reputation to maintain and it will not risk its name at any cost. So, the choice of materials will be above average.
The big question that is on everyone’s mind, when is the release date. We do not really know of that yet but it usually takes a year wait for the car to be released after it’s unveiling.
If the rumours are true that the A-class will be out in the market in the next year, chances are bright that we get the first glimpse as early as in the Frankfurt Motor Show this year. The grand motor show is famous as a platform for the automakers to showcase their upcoming models. Big names including Audi, Ford, and VW etc. get a chance to bring their work under the spotlight. The motor show this year is expected in September (press dates are 12, 13 September). What would be a better time than this to put Mercedes A-class to display?
