On the new Ford B-Max Titanium, there is a 1.6-litre TDCi diesel engine welcomes you aboard when you turn your ignition key. It growls like an angry lion that do not want to see any other trying to enter in its jurisdiction. Same is the case of the Ford B-Max 1.6 litre TDCi diesel engines that they do not left any room where any other engine can fit in.
There is only MPV available in the market that can cruise on the motorway like a sports car but with the fuel economy of more than 70 miles per gallon. The B-Max brilliantly satisfies the customers and tick all the right boxes on the wish list of the buyers. You can definitely say that it is another winner on the Ford model line-up but only when it is getting power from the 1.6 litre TDCi engine.
It doesn’t mean that the Ford B-Max only has a great engine but the every other feature and parts on the B-Max are as excellent as you can expect from the blue oval automaker. It is an MPV which has class leading features and great drivability.
Apart from the engine which we have discussed earlier, rest of the MPV is just awesome and offers a decent equipment level and the best fuel economy in the class. It truly is a driver’s car but just misses a B-Pillar.
Three of the pillars in a car play a vital role in terms of safety but removing the most important B-pillar doesn’t make any sense. But you can still believe in Ford because they always deliver the best even without a B-Pillar. Ford has introduced a great technique on the B-Max to tackle the situation in absence of B Pillar and will not see these features in the future MPVs from ford either. It will bring massive benefits in the B-Max.
The 1.6 litre TDCI diesel engine is basically a four cylinder turbocharged engine which is coupled with a five-speed manual transmission that powers the front wheels. This diesel unit cranks only 94bhp but it is enough to propel the wheels of the B-Max at excellent speed. With the pulling power of 215Nm of torque, you can easily overtake the vehicle ahead on the motorway cruising.
With the help off 1.6-litre diesel engines, B-Max announced as a greenest ever B-Max manufactured by Ford so far. B-Max actually emits only 104 grams of carbon particles in the air and return the fuel economy of 70 miles per gallon on average. On the motorway cruising it delivers even more. The 1.6-litre diesel engine is cheap and fuel economical but it growls a bit when you push it hard. However these engines are exclusively powerful on the motorway and they are the best motorway cruisers. With the 1.6 litre engine there are many other features that make the B-Max only option in the MPV class in the UK.
