The 216d Active Tourer is BMW’s unique compact front-wheel-drive MPV in entrance-level diesel form. This Active Tourer looks great on the outside and it’s roomy. The features of BMW 216d Active Tourer are completely matchless.
The 216d Active Tourer’s cabin is really well built, along with first-class materials used creatively and fitted consistently well. Ergonomics are also splendid, with a user-friendly iDrive rotary knob to direct the centrally mounted large screen. The front passenger seatback is magnificent which permits 2.4m-long to be carried easily.
The driver will notice a very well positioned steering wheel that is totally adjustable, and an easy-to-reach manual (non-automatic) gearlever. You might hope plenty of noise from an active three-pot BMW diesel engine, but that is actually not the case. The two options are available in 216d which are Comfort and Sport. Unfortunately, there being no individual configurable system here which would have been embraced. Unless one really want to reserve as much fuel as possible, it is nice to switch to Comfort or, even nicer, to Sport mode, where pedal response is little bit better. Sport mode’s heavier steering observes misplaced on an economy MPV, although, with the electrically aided steering being heavy enough in the other modes.
While observing 216d engine deeply we learn that this is the cheapest 2 Series Active Tourer, diesel, you can purchase, coming with a powerful 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged diesel mill, member of the new B37 engine family.
