Citroen C3 diesel engines are smart performers backing up the small hatchback line-up with tiny refinements

Citroen has worked very hard with the help of Peugeot to develop class-leading technologies and they have introduced the Citroen C3 diesel engines to deliver extremely refined performance in the C3 line-up. Although C3 has received some subtle refinements but the performance of a diesel engine in the package is unbeatable. Other visible changes make the car noticeable in the line-up.

What’s new?

The changes make the car visibly alike the bigger sibling C4 which has several variations including the C4 cactus. The French automaker has already developed the C3 as a refined city car and it has been designed to be the best choice in the congested city environment in the UK and other parts of the world.

French automaker has added several new features into the list where LED lights under the headlights to hint at the appealing MPV, the Picasso. But this isn’t still most appealing change if you don’t include the pair of those tiny performers, the E-HFi 4-cylinder C3 diesel engines.

The 1.6-litre E-HDi engine

All new Citroen C3 has a four pots 1.6-litre diesel engine which is powered by E-HDi technology to make it simply refined and great performer. It is capable of generating 114bhp from 3600 rpm.

A great power delivery for a tiny car. This engine is capable of pulling the car with 199lb-ft of torque which starts flowing at full power from only 1750 rpm. This diesel engine is very refined and clean motor that emits under 100 G/km of carbon emissions.

Engine performance

The all-new Citroen C3 can make 118 miles per hour while it takes under 10 seconds to get the sprint of 62 miles per hour from standstill. Fuel economy is not bad where it can exclusively do over 70 miles per hour from each gallon of diesel.

Six-speed manual gearbox helps the car to cruise on the motorway and in the city areas with excellent performance. It is the next city car of the French automaker to beat the world against diesel engines.
